This decorative small map is based on the travels of Cesare Federici, a Venetian merchant who traveled to India in 1563 and remained in the region for the next 18 years, visiting various coastal locations along the way. The map spans from the Red Sea to the Gulf of Siam, with nice detail of the Arabian Peninsula, Iran, and India. The mythical Chiamaeus Lacus is shown in the northeastern corner of the map with several rivers branching off from it to the south. A striking vignette next to the title cartouche depicts Federici riding through a river.

A nice impression with a tiny chip that just touches the border at top left.
