This wall-sized plan of Rome shows the administrative divisions (Rioni) of the city and includes extensive detail. In addition to the names of the streets, sites of interest such as the Colosseum, Pantheon, Vatican City, and Castel Sant'Angelo (or the Mausoleum of Hadrian) are located. An inset at lower left details the area surrounding Rome. The tables surrounding the plan list palaces, villas, gardens, and aqueducts, important monuments and locations, theaters, and more. Drawn by Stier and Knapp and engraved by Knapp.

Issued folding, with scattered foxing, short fold separations that have been closed on verso with archival tape, and a few small holes at fold intersections with minor loss of image. A tear that enters 2" into the image at left has been closed on verso with tape.
