This advertising map was designed and published by William Poe and lithographed by Sacramento Lithograph Co. The sheet is centered on a map of Lake Tahoe emphasizing the recreational activities in the region including small illustrations of water skiing, fishing, horseback riding, golf and skiing. It also locates Squaw Valley (Palisades Tahoe), site of the 1960 Winter Olympics, which brought enormous attention to Lake Tahoe as a ski resort. Flanking the map are various insets and numerous advertisements, providing a snapshot of Lake Tahoe businesses at the time. Folds into self wrappers with a photographic illustration of Penny Pitou, who had become the first American woman to win a downhill skiing Olympic medal. Blank verso. We found no past sales records for this map or institutional examples on OCLC.
