Compiled by Hitchcock and W.P. Blake, accompanying the report of R.W. Raymond, U.S. Commissioner of Mining Statistics. Printed in full color. A table lower left provides an explanatory key to the colors used to indicate the geological formations. It is a colorful and carefully drawn map showing considerable geographical detail as well as its geological information. A legend shows identifying marks for railroads, military and wagon roads, canals, army arsenals and forts, etc.

Great color and strong, bold impression. Backed with Japanese tissue to repair splits. A tiny (1/16") area of loss in Nevada. A very good example of this large and colorful map.
