A fine Ptolemaic map of Italy that includes Corsica, Sardinia and part of Sicily. The map, drawn on a trapezoidal projection, is based on Gastaldi. The map shows ancient political divisions during the Roman period. Finely engraved with a fully stippled sea.
Very nice impression on thick paper. Tiny fold separation visible when held to the light and some marginal stains at top, well away from image.
