A lively portrait of Frederick Henry, the Prince of Orange and ruler of Holland between 1625 and 1647. He is depicted surrounded by his adoring subjects and at bottom is a battle scene. This biography was published five years after Frederick Henry's death. Among the Dutch undertakings during the government of Frederick Henry was the seizure of northern Brazil.
