A lively portrait of Frederick Henry, the Prince of Orange and ruler of Holland between 1625 and 1647. He is depicted surrounded by his adoring subjects and at bottom is a battle scene. This biography was published five years after Frederick Henry's death. Among the Dutch undertakings during the government of Frederick Henry was the seizure of northern Brazil. Engraved by Jacob van Meurs and published by Snellaert and Nieuwenhuisen.
