Together the maps show Stevens' survey efforts between St. Paul and Fort Snelling along the Plateau of the Missouri to Fort Benton (Missoula) and on to the Continental Divide at Lewis and Clark Pass. Good detail along route with many placenames. Locates Forts Ripley, Union, Clark, Berthold, Benton, the Teton River, etc. Former 29 x 22", latter is 33 x 23". Nice matched pair.
Toned along some folds. Professionally conserved, de-acidified, and backed with archival tissue.
