Title continues: Showing The Progress of the Survey During the Year 1866. House of Representatives Ex. Doc No.87, 39th Congress, 2nd Session. Hardbound in black cloth with embossing, xii, 140pp, 24 (of 25) large folding charts, 4 line drawings of survey instruments. Charts include Winter Harbor, ME; Tenant's Harbor, ME; Portsmouth Harbor; Suisun Bay; Washington Sound; Warren River, RI; etc. The chart of Boston Harbor is missing. Great set of charts produced at the end of the Civil War.

Text and maps are very good with occasional tears and toning as is normally the case. General Progress chart with chipping at one fold. Binding is splitting at spine. Library stamp and name in ink on title page.
