Based on Robert de Vaugondy's map, this is a polar projection covering from the pole to the equator. In North America, the mythical Northwest Passage is shown connecting through the Strait of Anian to Hudson Bay. Lanhotan's Longue River (here called R. Bella Riviera) is also shown connecting the Mississippi River with the Pacific.
