A fabulous large map on four sheets joined. The double hemisphere show all the new discoveries with the tracks of the English voyages of exploration. Surrounding the hemispheres are panels of English text and diagrams of the solar system, the celestial northern and southern hemispheres, solar tables, a universal navigational scale, a chart of the world on Mercator's projection, and map of the moon's surface after Father Riccioli. This map was first issued in 1787 for Robert Sayer's General Atlas. This example was reissued by Lauri & Whittle.
