Great CIVIL WAR map that really is of the wilderness - there are only a tavern, a store, a couple of farm houses, a barn and the Old Wilderness Church on the entire sheet. The map depicts the Field of Operations of the Army of the Potomac commanded by Maj. Gen. George G. Meade. The locations of the forces are identified by red and blue lines, else uncolored. Several roads run through the area, identified by type (turnpike, plank, county, neighborhood, rail and farm) in a key below the title.
