Great desk globe with a full brass meridian, within a circular horizon band with engraved paper calendar and Zodiac. 22” tall and raised on a turned wooden stand. Legend in Ocean: Rand, McNally & Co's/ New Twelve Inch Terrestrial Globe/ Copyright 1891/ by Rand, McNally & Co. Part of Oklahoma is still Indian Territory. Gores are in good condition, surface soiling, some foxing and light areas of mildew. All gores are complete and tight. Only one small (1/4") paper area missing in British Columbia and there is minor surface abrasion in the Pacific.

The original map title was covered during manufacture with a printed label with 'newer' style text. The new label is missing the upper left portion. There are several chips with loss on the horizon band. A very nice globe that will benefit from professional cleaning.
