The consist of a series of scenes with text below each panel that tells a moral story. They provide a fascinating view of mid-19th century moral views and are sometimes very politically incorrect from a 21st century point of view. Ref: The American Comic Book Catalogue, the Evolutionary Era (London : Mansell, 1990). Each sheet (12 x 15.7”) is printed in full color. Paper is a bit fragile, as they are printed on early newsprint, but all are unblemished with bright colors.
