Great early travel guide illustrated with chromolithographs and b/w plates. Complete with b/w folding map titled: New and Enlarged Map of Baltimore City, including Waverly, Hampden, all the Parks, and a Miniature Map of the State. Prepared from the latest Surveys. Published by John F. Weishampel Jr. Bookseller and Stationer, No. 8 under the Eutaw House. 1872. The map (29 x 24.5") is very detailed and surrounded by vignettes. 180 pages, 4th edition. Soft bound with illustrated cover. A complete example of a rare edition.

Contemporary manuscript note on cover. Spine split with back cover a little loose. Map is in very good condition with archival tape reinforcing fold intersections. Plates all very good.
