Beautifully executed facsimile of the most famous sea chart atlas from the 16th century. Reproduced from a colored edition, the individual maps are works of art. Part I dated 1584 and Part II dated 1585. Most of the charts were engraved by Theodore de Bry and are very beautiful with elaborate compass roses, sea monster, etc. Bound, as the original, with maps attached to the binding strips. Hardbound in green cloth with gilt titles and leather spine.
