"[Illuminated Antiphonal Leaf]",

Stunning vellum leaf with the large historiated "S" of spiritus depicting the Descent of the Holy Ghost (in the form of a dove) with Mary and the Apostles. The drawing is decorated with leaves, flowers and a human face with a leaf between its lips, and colored in blue, red, brown and yellow. The leaf contains six staves of 5-line music on each side. The verso include two large capitals, and three complete lines which have been pasted over with paper and written with new words, evidently to correct the hymn. Repair in left margin and the sheet is slightly soiled. Still this is a nice example with a lovely illumination.
