Handsome map of the whole of South America based on Ortelius. The great southern continent, 'Terrae Australis' stretches the length of the map at bottom. A large galleon sails the Pacific and a sea monster ornaments the Atlantic, along with a strapwork title cartouche. Stipple engraved oceans and strong engraving make it very attractive.
