Large, splendid map of the island with north oriented to the right of the chart. The interior is filled with mountains and jungle, with the kingdom of Candy at center. Small flags locate the Dutch forts and there are several notations throughout. The large title cartouche features a Dutch merchant trading with natives who bring baskets filled with pearls, jewels and ivory. A large elephant dominates the background. Beautifully engraved in Lotter's bold style, with very attractive full color.


Condition: B

Minor light foxing in margins, a split in top margin fold, and mild toning of centerfold.
