A very large double hemisphere world map. The Western Hemisphere is to the right of the Eastern Hemisphere. The map shows tracks of all the major voyages of discovery completed in the 18th century. Nearly all landmasses are shown correctly with the exception of the northernmost part of North America, where there is a large inland Polar Sea and a land bridge connecting Alaska with Greenland. The spheres are surrounded with French text and diagrams of the solar system, an armillary sphere, and a nice compass rose.
