An interesting sheet depicting the European possessions throughout the Americas. The map is surrounded by French text describing the history of colonization. The routes of Columbus, Cortez, and Pizarro are shown, and the new discoveries of Vancouver are noted in the Pacific Northwest. The United States is shown with its northern border into British Canada. However, the Oregon Territory is left uncolored showing neither Britain's, or the United States', claims in the region. The route of Lewis and Clark is also shown. Minor discoloration in text.
