Rarely seen map of the Americas published by Schneider & Weigel. Alaska is fairly well shaped following the discoveries of Capt. Cook. Numerous Pacific islands are shown including the Sandwich Islands. The United States is shown east of the Mississippi. Great detail throughout with numerous place and Indian names. The map has suffered quite a bit of damage with good restoration, which includes paper replacement of left margin and an area (1 x 2") into the map. Border has been expertly drawn in facsimile. Elsewhere there are several short tears, all with repairs. Overall clean and the defects are not obtrusive. Even with its faults, it is an attractive and rare map.
