The Map Collector magazine was founded by Ronald Vere Tooley in 1977. Over the next two decades it built a reputation as a highly respected resource on the history of cartography and collecting antique maps. Each issue contains a wealth of information written by the most respected researchers, collectors and dealers. These ten issues cover a broad range of subjects including watermarks, 16th century Bible maps, the mapping of Ceylon, the rarity of Ortelius maps, bird's eye views, maps engraved on powder horns, and 'blueback' charts. Included with the set is the Index, which provides a great reference tool. A few tiny ink marks and a clipped advertisement out of a couple of issues, else fine.
