This unusual and attractive fan map was created to promote Japan's railways. On one side of the fan is a map of Japan with insets of Taiwan, Manchukuo (Manchuria), Hokkaido, and Karafuto Prefecture, showing the national and private railway network and identifying stations and interchange points. On the other side of the fan is a lovely scene of a man rowing a wasen with a mountain and forest in the background.
