This small title page features a scene of explorers conferencing with Indigenous South Americans on a beach. Large galleons and a lighthouse can be seen in the background. This engraving was first published by Mallet in 1683, and then re-engraved with an alternate German title for Johann David Zunners's German edition of Description de l'Univers. This example includes the general title page for the book attached to the verso.
