An attractive and uncommon map of the Middle East, including Cyprus, a portion of the Persian Gulf and the north shore of the Red Sea filled with details of Old Testament locations, including Babel and Nineveh. This is a variant issue, decorated with a compass rose and caliper scale at upper corners, rather than the coat-of-arms and expulsion vignette. Signs of erasures of the publisher imprint are visible at bottom right.

A nice impression with a few spots of soiling and light toning along the centerfold and edges of the sheet. There are a number of tiny chips and tears along the far edges of the sheet.
