This decorative map details the southwestern Irish province of Munster. Munster is the largest of the four provinces, including the counties of Limerick, Waterford, Cork, and Clare. Many places are named including Tipperary, Bantry Bay and the Dingle Peninsula. The sea is decorated with ships, a sea monster, and a compass rose. A drape-style cartouche and a strapwork cartouche fill the top corners of the map. German text on verso, published between 1636-42.

References: Van der Krogt (Vol. I) #5920:1.

Condition: B+

Contemporary color (possibly excluding the oceans) with a bit of foxing and archival repairs to several short centerfold separations. A 1.5" section of border at lower left and 1" area at bottom right have been replaced using leaf casting with border expertly drawn in facsimile. There is light show-through from text on verso.
