This steel-engraved tourist map extends from Pentonville south to Kennington and from Brompton east to Limehouse. The River Thames runs across the center of the map, which is precisely engraved down to individual buildings along with roads and parks. A "new" London Bridge is located and the Thames Tunnel (completed in 1843) is indicated near the London Docks. Surrounding the map are vignettes of London landmarks including The King's New Palace (later Buckingham in 1837), Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's, and more. Engraved by Josiah Neele and published by James Fraser, who dedicated the map "to her most gracious majesty Queen Adelaide." Dissected and backed with linen. Folds into tan cloth boards (5.2 x 7.0") with paper title label on the front cover.

References: Darlington & Howgego #332.

Condition: B+

Issued folding with light toning, minor foxing, and a bit of soiling along the edges. Dissected and backed with linen with a 2" linen split along a panel at top. Covers are soiled along the edges.
