An unusual map centered on the Atlantic Ocean, extending to include parts of both the Pacific and Indian oceans. The continents are shown in outline form with North America extending to beyond the mouth of the Mississippi River and Hudson Bay. Numerous place names are shown along the coastlines and there is good detail of the islands in the oceans, including the erroneous Pepys Island off the coast of present-day Argentina. The map is decorated by a compass rose at top left and title in block form.
