A detailed map showing most of the United States as well as northern Mexico, with an emphasis on the Southern Pacific railroad routes, extending from New Orleans to San Francisco, Portland and Salt Lake City. All stations are noted along the company's routes and also delineates other railroads in thin black line. The map features an illustration of "Shasta Scenery" at bottom left. The verso has a timetable for the Shasta Route, a map of “Mountain Climbing on the Shasta Scenic Route” and text describing the “Remarkable Engineering Along the ‘Shasta Route’.” Self-folding (4.0 x 8.7"). We found no past sales records or institutional examples on OCLC for this 1898 issue.
