This charming and novel Grande Construction was published not long after the Statue of Liberty was completed. It is a pochoir, or hand-stenciled print, presenting all the components for a cut-out paper model of the monument, with instructions and even some tiny figures to marvel up at the statue from its base. At top left is a view showing the Statue of Liberty against the backdrop of the Brooklyn Bridge and the New York City skyline. Published by Imagerie d'Epinal, a French publishing house founded by Jean Charles Pellerin in 1796.
