This handsome map of Cape Breton and the island of Newfoundland is filled with coastal place names and other details. The interiors are left primarily blank with some indications of topography and hydrology. The decorative landscape cartouche features a tree with drying fish, alluding to the rich fishing banks in the region.

A crisp impression with contemporary color on a sheet with the watermark of three crescent moons. There is some minor printer's ink residue outside of the bottom right border.
