This elegantly engraved map of southwestern Germany extends south to Lucerne, Switzerland, and includes the cities of Heidelberg, Nuremberg, Augsburg, Stuttgart, and Strassbourg. Teeming with information, it shows a number of cities in the form of miniature plans and many smaller towns and villages. A detailed legend at bottom left identifies the symbols on the map. The decorative title cartouche features a number of allegorical figures, including a river god, Ceres, Bacchus, and Diana.
