This elegantly engraved map focuses on the Franconia region of Germany, located in Bavaria. It spans from Frankfurt and Heidelberg in the west to Regensburg in the southeast and identifies numerous other towns and cities, including Bamberg, Nuremberg, and Wurtzburg. There is excellent topographical detail, with an emphasis on the region's rivers and forests. The strapwork title cartouche is draped with bunches of grapes, a nod to Franconia's wines. The distance scale cartouche is oriented vertically. Latin text on verso, published between 1640-55.

A nice impression with full contemporary color, a few spots of foxing, and marginal soiling.
