This delightful bird's-eye plan of the Latvian city of Riga foregrounds a cluster of ships in the Daugava. There is excellent detail of the fortfications. A key at bottom locates fourteen churches and bulwarks. The city's coat of arms appears at top left. A compass rose orients north to the top left. The view first appeared in the fifteenth volume of Merian's Theatrum Europaeum.
