This fine decorative map of Durham shows cities, fortifications, hills, forests, parks, villages, castles, and more. The map is beautifully ornamented with the royal arms, ships, and the Durham coat of arms. The title cartouche is flanked by shepherds, while a putto uses measuring dividers on the distance scale cartouche. Latin text on verso, published between 1646-62.

Condition: B+
A nice impression with full contemporary color on a lightly toned sheet with a fleur-de-lis watermark and a few minor spots. There are small remnants of hinge tape on verso.
