This rare map of Montana has a unique photographic-pictorial hybrid design. The state is shown as a collage of black & white photographs of scenery, animals, and cowboy and Indigenous life. It is surrounded by illustrated silhouettes of Western iconography and a decorative border. Self-folds into a cartoon cover with cowboys on their horses hopping from mountaintop to mountaintop. Designed by Bob Fletcher, with art work by Irvin "Shorty" Shope (1900-1977), a native of Montana and one of the charter members of the Cowboy Artists of America. Published by Montanans, Incorporated.
