This is the first edition of Armour's persuasive food source map of the United States, touting "The Greatness of the United States is Founded on Agriculture." The colorful map is absolutely filled with small illustrations showing the variety of agricultural products harvested across the country. These illustrations are keyed to a legend at right identifying 25 different products with cattle, hogs and sheep listed first. Armour plants are also depicted on the map and concentrated in the middle of the country. A lengthy quotation by J. Ogden Armour, son of company founder Philip Armour, ends "because nearly all industries depend on agriculture, the prosperity of the entire nation is inseparably linked with the marketing of meat and other animal products through the packing industry." The verso features an elaborate article furthering Armour's view entitled "Nation's Ever-Growing Food Problem Has Been Met by Packing Industry." Self-folding. This example includes the original mailing envelope, stating that the map is "For Use in the Schools" "to aid in teaching Geography and to make clear the importance of Agriculture."
