This is the handsomely produced two-volume catalog for Christie's April 2007 auction of the Frank S. Streeter library. Son of famed collector Thomas W. Streeter, Frank Sherwin Streeter (1918 - 2006) began to build an impressive collection of his own after his father's death, with a focus on original narratives of early voyages, exploration related to the search for the Northwest Passage, the history of navigation, and astronomy. The two volumes cover 552 lots, most with illustrations. The books serve as a tremendous resource for anyone who shares Streeter's collecting interests. The specialists credited with assembling this catalog are Francis Wahlgren, Thomas Lecky, Ian Ehling, Chris Coover, Melanie Halloran, and Patrick McGrath. Volume One - 349 pages; Volume Two - 321 pages. Hardbound in green cloth with gilt title on spine and color plate on covers.
