This is the scarce atlas volume that likely accompanied the 1844 Annual Report for the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions. The volume contains 31 pages of maps and illustrations featuring missions in Africa, Turkey, Syria, Persia, India/Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Borneo, Hawaii and mainland United States. Within the United States, maps include the Ojibwa and Sioux Missions, Indian Missions West of the Mississippi, Oregon Mission and Hawaii (1 full-page and 3 half-page maps). The Hawaii section also includes two full-page views of Maui, one of Molokai, and one of Kailhua. Other engravings including seminaries, schools and native dress are interspersed throughout the text. Printed wrappers with original string ties.
