The Atlas Scholasticus was published by Johann Huebner (1668-1731) and is a much larger and higher quality production than your typical school atlas. It features 26 folio-sized maps by Johann Baptist Homann including the world, four continents, 20 regional maps of Europe, and a map of the Holy land. The maps include:

1. Planiglobii Terrestris cum Utroq Hemisphaerio Caelesti...Condition: There is a small (1" x 1.5") chip along the lower centerfold with small loss of image. A 3.5" centerfold separation at bottom has been archivally repaired on verso. (B)
2. Europa Christiani Orbis Domina...Condition: There is an archivally repaired centerfold separation that enters 2" into image at bottom. (B+)
3. Asiae Recentissima Delineatio...Condition: (B+)
4. Totius Africae Nova Repraesentatio...Condition: (B+)
5. Totius Americae Septentrionalis et Meridionalis...Condition: There is some minor color offsetting and one tiny hole along the lower centerfold (B+)

The atlas contains two title pages including an elegantly engraved Atlas Novus Terrarum Orbis Imperia..., which features Atlas and Hercules holding up the heavens while allegorical figures gather in front of a large globe. In the entry on Huebner, Tooley notes that this atlas was published circa 1715. Phillips references an edition with 32 maps published circa 1732. Rebacked with contemporary full leather boards and gilt title on the front cover.

Condition:

All maps have full contemporary color and are trimmed to the borders and pasted on old thick paper (18th or early 19th century). Most of the maps have small stains in the top corners. See description above for additional map condition details and grades. Two title pages are also pasted on old stock, with the engraved title stained at upper right and a bit of loss in the bottom right border. Printed title is partially detached. Rebacked over contemporary boards, which have some wear and small surface abrasions. Binding (B+)
