This decorative chart of the west coast of India and a portion of the southern coast of Persia covers from C. Jaskes (Jask) to C. Komorin (Kanyakumari). The chart locates the Maldives, the Laquedives, and major harbors. The very large title cartouche features a fanciful seahorse and a merman. This is a Dutch edition, engraved by J. van Schley, with a Dutch title below the map: Kaart van de Kusten van Persie, Guzaratte en Malabar. Published by Pierre de Hondt; later published in Raynal's Atlas Portatif (1773) with the number 16 at bottom right.
