This well-preserved leaflet coded "13-J-1" was produced by the Psychological Warfare Branch of the U.S. Army. It was dropped by U.S. forces on Japanese troops in the Philippines. The illustration on the front of the leaflet shows the Philippines with a Japanese soldier crouched in a defensive position while Allied forces surround the islands, effectively cutting off Japanese supply routes.

The back of the leaflet contains Japanese text and is accompanied by an additional page with the official English translation. A portion of this text is shown below (see images for complete text):

"Allied planes, ships and submarines based on the Philippines surround the islands and are able to search out and destroy Japanese ships from the southern regions laden with oil, rubber, tin, etc."

"However hard you try, how is it possible to fight properly without adequate supplies?"
