This sugoroku was designed to instill nationalistic pride and support of the Japanese Imperial Army in young girls in Japan. It was published as a New Year's supplement to the girls' magazine, Shōjo Kurabu (Girls' Club). The concept was created by Nakamura Seika and the artwork was designed by Sawai Ichisaburō. The game is played similar to a snakes and ladder game, beginning at the semi-circle at bottom left, in which children bow before the Imperial Palace. The game proceeds counter-clockwise along the numbered squares on the outside of the game board. Each square presents a way that girls can support the war effort from home, such as sewing a good-luck belt for soldiers in square #1, to sending soldiers letters and packages in square #8, to participating in the send-off of soldiers heading to war in square #23. From there, the game continues on different routes through China by sea, road, and rail to reach the endpoint at top center, in which Chinese children welcome Japanese soldiers at a Chinese city gate. On the back of the game is a map of China and Manchuria printed in blue ink, with an inset map of Europe at top left. An interesting piece of propaganda and ephemera from Japan during the Second Sino-Japanese War.
