This fascinating map details the travels of St. Peter and St. Paul throughout the Eastern Mediterranean and includes place names from the New Testament. Two large and detailed insets appear in the bottom corners: a bird's-eye view of Jerusalem (Hierusalem Occidens) and a map of the Israeli tribal areas (In hac Iudaa Tabula Iesu Christi Salvatris...). The decorative title cartouche features Jesus carrying the cross with St. Peter and St. Paul on the sides. This edition appears identical to the earlier Sanson/Mariette map (1665), with revised date and removal of Mariette's imprint.
