This is the northern sheet of Delisle's important two-sheet map of the Russian Empire. The map is centered on Moscow and provides great detail of the towns, roads, forests and topography. The map is decorated with a nice title cartouche featuring a sleigh, coat of arms, animals, and a hunter.

On watermarked paper with contemporary outline color and later coloring in the cartouche. There are two pairs of short wormtracks along the upper centerfold that have been professionally infilled, as well as a tiny paper flaw at far left.
