This detailed map presents the political divisions of the Dutch Republic near the end of the Batavian Revolution (1781-95). It is filled with detail including towns, villages, roads, canals, marshy areas, and more. The numerous sand banks in the North Sea and Zuyder Zee are well depicted. Four distance scales are located at bottom left while a simple rococo-style cartouche occupies the upper left corner.
