This is a reduced version of Gerard Mercator's folio map of Europe, extending to include part of Greenland, Iceland, and the mythical island of Frisland. It is adorned with a strapwork title cartouche and a block-shaped distance scale. Engraved by Abraham Goos. German text on verso, published between 1648-51.
