The map is on a full folio sheet (21.9 x 17.5") surrounded by English text giving a brief description of the state's boundaries, rivers, climate, chief towns, public lands, government, and history. The finely engraved map delineates counties and locates major towns, settlements, rivers and creeks. County configuration is current to 1826 with the addition of Vermilion in the east and McDonough in the west. The Indian Boundary line is prominently depicted in the north along with lands belonging to the Potawatomi tribe. Engraved by J. Yeager.
This is the first time we have encountered this map in black & white.
