This is a large-scale reprint of the 1887 U.S. Coast Survey reproduction taken from the original “dilapidated” L’Enfant manuscript map. While the 1887 edition was charged with the task of copying the original manuscript to make reproductions available for use in land disputes relating to the District of Columbia, this reprint coincided with a preservation project on the manuscript map undertaken by the Library of Congress in 1951. Not to be confused with the ca. 1901 reduced version. Code A4051-1++ is located in the bottom right corner.
